St. Ignatius Jacobite Syrian Church, Marol, Mumbai

Rev. Fr. Mathew George Kallumkal, Vicar of St. Ignatius Jacobite Syrian Church, Marol for the last three years, has been transferred to St. Thomas Congregation, Mumbai. He will be in charge of St. Basil Service Centre, Anushaktinagar, from May 01, 2012 onwards.

A warm send-off was accorded to him on Sunday, 29th April 2012 immediately after Holy Qurbana. Mr. K.P. Thariathu, Hon. Secretary of the Parish, Mr. A.Y. Sakaria, Mr. Jobin John, Mrs. Anna Mathew and Mr. M. Thomas spoke on the occasion. As a token of appreciation, Mr. P. Korathu, Vice President and Mr. Thomas Varghese, Treasurer presented a gift on behalf of the parish.

Rev. Fr. Mathew George Kallumkal, Vicar of St. Ignatius JS Church, Marol, Mumbai, hoisted the flag for the main perunnal of the parish, St. George Feast, to be celebrated on 5th and 6th May, 2012.

H.G. Kuriakose Mor Theophilos, Resident Metropolitan of MSOT Seminary and Patriarchal Vicar of Malankara Churches in Germany, Switzerland and Austria will be the chief celebrant of this year's Perunnal.

80th Dukhorono feast of St. Ignatius Elias III and second anniversary of Holy Mooron consecration celebration concluded at St. Ignatius Jacobite Syrian Church, Marol, Mumbai.

On Saturday 18th February ‘Royo Naseeho’ H.G. Dr. Abraham Mor Severios Metropolitan was given a warm reception by members of the parish with lighted candles. His Grace delivered the gospel message after Evening prayers.

On Sunday 19th February, Holy mass was offered on three altars. His Grace was the chief celebrant; Rev. Fr. Daniel Karavallil (Saji achen) and Rev. Fr. Varghese Nellickathuruthel (Binoy achen) were the co-celebrants. A colourful ‘Raasa’ was taken out around the church premises. Anniversary of Spiritual organisations were held thereafter, and prizes were given to winners of various competitions. As part of its charitable activities, ‘Food Kits’ were distributed to 15 poor families. On the occasion a ‘Parish Directory’ containing details of members alongwith family photo and other useful informations was released by His Grace by giving the first copy to senior most member of Mumbai Diocese, Mr. Thomas Kurien Karimpanathara. Lovely songs were sung by Sunday School students and Vanitha Samajam members. A large number of faithful participated. Love Feast was served to all. The perunnal celebrations ended by lowering of the flag by Vicar Rev. Fr. Mathew George Kallumkal.
